Cincinnati's Music Hall from Elm Street
Looking north on Elm Street in Cincinnatirsquo;s Over-The-Rhine neighborhood you see beautiful Music Hall, circa 1905. When completed in 1878, it was considered the largest building in the nation for a brief time. Note the amazing iron-work along the roof lines and at the peaks of the towers that emphasize the Gothic elements of this magnificent Victorian structure designed by Samuel Hannaford. By the mid twentieth century, most of these elements had been removed to save on maintenance costs. With the coming renovations, one would hope to see some of the original detailed architectural glory brought back to life.
